A dramatic scene unfolded at a hotel in the Pataudi area of Gurugram on Tuesday when a dispute over a runaway couple escalated into violence, leaving three people injured in a shocking case of open firing. The police were alerted immediately and the hotel owner, a retired army man, was taken into custody following the incident.
The turmoil began when Sajid, a young man, checked into the Capital Inn Hotel with a minor girl. When the girl’s family discovered their whereabouts, they rushed to the hotel, gathering a crowd outside in protest. As tensions rose, the situation escalated into a violent confrontation between the hotel owner and the enraged crowd.

According to the police, the hotel owner, identified as retired army personnel Rajkumar, allegedly opened fire in an attempt to disperse the gathering. The gunfire struck three individuals – Wasim, a relative of the minor girl, and two bystanders, Saurabh and Sandeep – leaving them injured. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with panic gripping the bystanders as gunshots rang out.
Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Kumar confirmed that officers arrived promptly and detained Rajkumar. His licensed pistol, which was used in the shooting, was seized as evidence. The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
The police have launched a thorough investigation into the case, examining the events leading up to the altercation. Legal action is expected against the accused, with police probing whether the use of the firearm was justified or an act of excessive force.
