Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds To Skip Met Gala 2025 Amid Legal Feud With Justin Baldoni
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been a regular at the annual charity gala since their debut in 2014.
Hollywood star couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively will be no-shows at this year’s Met Gala. The update comes at a time when Reynolds and Lively have been entangled in the multi-million dollar sexual harassment lawsuit against It Ends With Us actor and director Justin Baldoni. Amid the back-and-forth lawsuits and allegations, insiders say that the couple has decided to not attend the annual New York City fundraiser event. The source also clarified that the decision has nothing to do with the ongoing legal war as the decision to skip the event was made before the drama unfolded.
Blake Lively has been a significant part of the Met Gala, popularly known for leaving a great impact on the red carpet. However, it has been since 2022 that the actress along with your husband has skipped their appearances. A source close to the couple spoke to People’s magazine and said, “Blake and Ryan haven’t gone since 2022 when they were co-chairs, and they will not be in attendance this year."

Another source, while speaking to the US Weekly, quipped, “She’s not a Kardashian that goes every year."
Previously, the Hollywood couple graced the Met Gala in 2022, serving as co-hosts for the event alongside Regina King and Lin Manuel Miranda. After their debut at the event in 2014, they had been making on-and-off appearances for years.
This year, the 2025 Met Gala has been scheduled for May 5, with the theme Superfine: Tailoring Black Style taking centre stage. The displays will feature garments, paintings, photographs, and much more from the 18th century through the present day. With Coleman Domingo along with Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams co-chairing the event, LeBron James will serve as the honourary chair.
Coming back to Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s much-publicised legal feud, the dispute between the co-stars reportedly started on the sets of their summer release, It Ends With Us. Things officially went public in December 2024 when Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit. The following month, the actor-director filed a countersuit accusing Lively, Reynolds, and the actress’s publicist of defamation.
